In this space, our challenge was with an awkward layout that wasn't properly serving the needs of the homeowner. The space was originally an office attached to the main living area, that created an awkward hallway, and a fireplace location that meant the living space had no natural focus - which meant we needed to totally rethink the layout. Our client was already interested in eliminating the office which really helped us out in this design to gain the additional space. We were able to come with fresh eyes and provide a new layout that included removing the office, vaulting the ceiling, relocating and centering the fireplace, creating a much more useable hallway entrance that tucked away the bathroom access and create a much more accommodating formal dining area ensuring the ability to host large gatherings in this huge open floorplan design!
